Hello!
Back again, this time with the goal of looking into surface design and refining technical skills in Rhino. Quite the journey this time, I started out looking at many different surfaces to try and get an idea for what I wanted to make.
I really enjoyed the colour separation on this pattern and also enjoyed the chaotic nature of it.This was pleasing due to its simplicity.
This kind of idea was tempting to me for a time, but eventually I decided that I wasn't into lettering for my design.
A lot of surfaces seem to rely heavily on circles which was something I wasn't super sure about.
I like the abstract nature of certain surfaces.
The best part of the pattern here is definitely the reflection, adds a super interesting quality to it but unfortunately that wasn't what I was looking for.
This is more my style. This is a piece of fabric art that I own, and made me really appreciate the randomness of a surface.
This made me requestion whether or not random was a good idea... Lol
Looking back at more traditional patterns, I do really enjoy the simplicity of some of these designs. Well, time to try some ideas... This was my original Pattern design. I was wanting to do something a little bit crazier but then when I started trying to hatch this my entire idea fell apart due to some errors I kept consistently getting, so to keep in line with what I learned from my surface design explorations I decided to simplify.
This was the final result of what I was happy with. I thought it would be a simple design that still captures the essence of what I had originally wanted, in terms of colour palette I decided to pursue an extremely 90s neon aesthetic that I thought lent itself to the somewhat Gundam-esque shapes I ended up making. Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to have you check out my future projects!
This is so sick, I love the colour palette you used!!
