OBDF 110 Project 6: PAPERCRAFT: RESEARCH

For this assignment, we were told to choose an article that inspired us based off of a list that was made available to the class. I chose an article about the Zim-Zou Hermes Astronaut exhibit, as it aesthetically and conceptually spoke to me.

The piece is a 3D Papercraft installation that follows the thematic choice of an over the shoulder 3rd person perspective space scene. There is extreme attention to detail surrounding the technology and panels of the spacecraft, as well on the central figure. There are a lot of cool tones, soft pinks and cold blues are the main colours of the piece, which serve to create a cohesive and pleasing aesthetic that I found to be very enthralling.

This work inspired me because I want to create interactive art installations and this exhibition demonstrates an aesthetic that I find pleasing, it also clearly shows that you can effectively create beautiful large scale 3d work through affordable means and not sacrifice quality or ones creative vision.
